Nun momento no que a violencia é un dos eixos que parecen impregnar o discurso literario e ante a urxencia de analizar como a lingua actúa na construción do mundo, a Facultade de Filoloxía e Tradución acollerá os días 16 e 17 de xaneiro o primeiro congreso internacional Lingua e violencia: mediacións literarias na era do Antropoceno. O simposio está organizado polo Departamento de Literatura Española, en colaboración co grupo de investigación ELICIN (Estudios literarios y culturales en lengua española) da Universidade de Vigo, que dirixe a investigadora Carmen Luna; o grupo de investigación Discourse and Identity da Universidade de Santiago de Compostela e o proxecto Language Acts and Wordmaking do King’s College London.

“Este encontro, que vai dirixido sobre todo ao persoal investigador, aínda que tamén está aberto ao estudantado de grao en Ciencias da Linguaxe e Linguas Estranxeiras, ten como obxectivo explorar o xeito no que as distintas formas de violencia se ven reflectidas no discurso literario dende que o incrible impacto do ser humano comezou a influír no ecosistema”, sinala María Alonso, organizadora do congreso e docente da FFT. Estas cuestións serán analizadas mediante o tratamento de temas como a destrución do medio ambiente, a crueldade animal ou a brutalidade social e de xénero. Así mesmo, abordaranse as diferenzas entre os termos centro vs. periferia, poder vs. resistencia, global vs. local... entre outros.

Equality Label

The Equality Label has been created to make the effort made by many in our University, who fight everyday to research, teach, transfer, manager and produce feministic and from a gender point of view scientific knowledge visible, and publicly and institutionally acknowledged. This initiative aims to acknowledge the work made by centres, schools and faculties in the field of a real and effective equality between men and women promotion, and, in this way, achieve a more human, equality and fair university.

The Faculty of Philology and Translation achieved the Equality Label on September 24, 2021.

Centre certified by FIDES-AUDIT

The Faculty of Philology and Translation designed a Quality Guarantee System in collaboration with the Quality Area of the University of Vigo, following the guidelines of the programme FIDES-AUDIT.

The ACSUG (Agency for Quality Assurance in the Galician University System) issued a positive evaluation of the design of the centre Quality Guarantee System on the 26th of April, 2010. Later, on the 7th of October, 2014, the ACSUG issued as positive the certification report of the implementation of the Quality Guarantee System in the centre.This certification has been renewed on 10/11/2022.
