Esta mañá arrancou na sede de Afundación, en Vigo, a trixésimo segunda edición do European Systemic Functional Linguistics Conference, ESFLC2023, un congreso internacional no que participan máis de 80 especialistas en Lingüística Sistémica Funcional procedentes dos cinco continentes. Organizado polo grupo de investigación LVTC (Language Variation and Textual Categorization) da UVigo, esta é a primeira vez que o simposio europeo se celebra en Galicia, o que constitúe unha oportunidade “estratéxica” porque “nos sitúa no mapa da comunidade científica como equipo de relevancia na investigación sistémico funcional”, como destaca Ana Elina Martínez-Insua, profesora do Departamento de Filoloxía Inglesa, Francesa e Alemá e responsable do comité organizador.

Martínez-Insua foi a encargada de inaugurar o congreso acompañada por Maribel del Pozo, vicerreitora de Internacionalización; Carlos Gouveia, presidente da European Systemic Functional Linguistics Association); e Dolores González Álvarez, directora do Departamento de Filoloxía Inglesa, Francesa e Alemá. No acto deron a benvida aos 83 expertos e expertas procedentes de Arxentina, Australia, Brasil, Chile, China, Finlandia, Francia, Alemaña, Grecia, Hong Kong, India, Italia, México, Nixeria, Noruega, Polonia, Portugal, Reino Unido, Sudáfrica, España, Suecia e Taiwan. Aínda que o perfil das e dos asistentes é variado, en xeral son investigadoras e investigadores de lingüística interesados no estudo da comunicación humana tendo en conta os contextos nos que se produce e os medios e canais que emprega.

Equality Label

The Equality Label has been created to make the effort made by many in our University, who fight everyday to research, teach, transfer, manager and produce feministic and from a gender point of view scientific knowledge visible, and publicly and institutionally acknowledged. This initiative aims to acknowledge the work made by centres, schools and faculties in the field of a real and effective equality between men and women promotion, and, in this way, achieve a more human, equality and fair university.

The Faculty of Philology and Translation achieved the Equality Label on September 24, 2021.

Centre certified by FIDES-AUDIT

The Faculty of Philology and Translation designed a Quality Guarantee System in collaboration with the Quality Area of the University of Vigo, following the guidelines of the programme FIDES-AUDIT.

The ACSUG (Agency for Quality Assurance in the Galician University System) issued a positive evaluation of the design of the centre Quality Guarantee System on the 26th of April, 2010. Later, on the 7th of October, 2014, the ACSUG issued as positive the certification report of the implementation of the Quality Guarantee System in the centre.This certification has been renewed on 10/11/2022.
